With only a 5 minute prep time, this recipe is perfect for a quick holiday or any-day meal. Whether you’re cooking for two or need a quick veggie dish to serve unexpected guests, you can whip this up in a flash.

Not only is it nice to serve with a main meal, but it’s super with sandwiches for a light evening meal. This is especially true if you’ve attended a holiday gathering and brought home leftover roast beef, turkey, or ham. My family has even been known to make a whole meal of this by just adding a few crackers!

Whenever you decide to serve this quick & easy pea salad, it’s well worth having it in your recipe collection.

Step by Step method

  • Step 1:

    In a medium size bowl, add the drained peas.

  • Step 2:

    Next add the cheese. If you aren’t a cheddar cheese fan, swap this out with your favorite flavor.

  • Step 3:

    The onion comes next. You’ll want a sweet onion such as a Vidalia or red onion. You might also try using green onions.

  • Step 4:

    Next add the bacon crumbles. If you want to make your own, that’s fine. Otherwise, simply buy packaged bacon bits or pre-cooked bacon from the grocery store.

  • Step 5:

    The final item to add is your dressing. You can add the mayonnaise, sugar and milk directly to the bowl and stir to mix or blend those items together in a separate bowl. Then pour the dressing over the pea ingredients as we’ve done here.

  • Step 6:

    Fold to ensure everything is well coated. Place in the refrigerator until ready to serve. This dish is best if allowed to sit for about 45 minutes prior to eating; however, you can serve it immediately.
